BENEFITS OF MEDITATION
* Controls negative thinking
The greatest battle of every believer is the battle of the mind. And we are told in His word that we should renew our minds. (Romans 12:2). If you are not in control of your thoughts then they are in control of you.
Many believers
suffers negative thoughts. It causes them to live in a state of worry, anger, need and other toxic emotions. Practicing meditation teaches believers to quiet their minds, disidentify with their thoughts and clean their mental path to God.
* Overcomes habits and destructive behavior
Meditation helps to bring the flesh under the authority of the most high. Trying to overcome habits and other addictive behavior? Then regular meditation can help you break the cycle of looking outside of God's spirit in you for happiness, it helps you to release the restlessness that causes you to seek fulfilment in all the wrong places.
Meditation can help bring your flesh under subjection as you learn to notice, release and then eliminate compulsive thinking with God's word.
* Live with more joy and contentment
(1Timothy 6:6-8)
The enemy has deceived believers and unbelievers that happiness is acquired by obtaining material goods, relationships and things outside of God's kingdom. But nothing could be farther from the truth that peace, joy and contentment comes from abiding and trusting God and His word.
Meditation deals with any tension, disappointment,sadness and you end up being joyful.
Thoughts are more powerful than we think, thinking constantly about your problems can make you miserable but when you ignore and channel your thoughts to the word of God, then joy comes.
* It leads to success /prosperity (Joshua 1:8)
Meditation exposes you to Kingdom principles of success and all you have left is to apply them and enjoy the results.
* It leads to direction
(Isaiah 30:21)
The amazing thing about direction is that it is superior to speed. It doesn't matter how fast you go, if you do not know the direction, you might end up getting lost and wasting a lot of time.
* It leads to character growth
Meditation is not just a means to getting close to God, it does more than that. It leads to growth, the more you meditate on the word, the more it exposes the character flaws that you need to fix.
You are encouraged to work on your character and at the end, you will be a better person, better Christian and then we have a better world.
