WHAT TO KNOW

Sexual purity applies to both our actions and our attitudes, it is the active choice to refrain from sexual activity outside the bond of marriage.

It is the decision to guard your
heart and mind by not allowing impure thoughts or attitudes take over.

Sexual purity is knowing that we are worthy of more than SHORT TERM PLEASURES and that there is something better planned for our lives.

To be pure doesn't mean that suddenly those desires will disappear, instead we must have an active part in choosing to remain pure.




WHAT TO KNOW

1.  You are vulnerable to sexual immorality
Don't think that it can never happen to you,it can. So if you think you are standing, be careful that you don't fall (1Corinthians 10:12). If you think you will never fall sexually,you will fail to take precautions to keep it from happening.

The more involved you are in serving Christ, the greater vested interest Satan has in destroying you and Gods work through you. The devil wants to take you down and use your life as a bad example to other Christians. But as powerful as the devil thinks he is,God is more powerful to deliver us has given to us in Christ  all the resources we need to live a godly life.(2Peter 1:3-4)


2. Your body belongs to God, you are not on your own.

Honour God with your body (1Corinthians 6:20)

3. Sexual purity begins in the mind,not the body(Proverbs 4:23).

Be careful what you expose your mind to.
If you want to abstain from lust, you don't go places and watch movies and programs and read things that stimulate lust.

Don't give your mind junk food,be sure you are getting spiritual nutrition.


4. Some Christians pray God will protect their purity then willfully put themselves into temptation and wonder why God didn't answer their prayers.

No matter how hard you pray that you will not fall into immorality, you will fall if you continue to make choices that feed your temptation towards immorality.

Don't allow your choices to undermine and invalidate your prayers.

5. God has your best interest at heart when He tells you not to have premarital sex.

Sex is not just something you do,it is someone you are,It is linked to the welfare of your whole person. Having sex outside marriage is self destruction. Sexual purity is always for the best.

6. The grace of God teaches us to say NO to ungodliness and worldly passion, to live a self controlled ,upright and godly lives in this present age (Titus 2:12)

God won't tell you to abstain if it was impossible.
