THE TEMPLE OF GOD

today I am talking about being a temple of God.
The word ‘Temple’ refers to a place where God dwells, where His presence is. It signifies a holy place. A place without stains.
So isn’t it wonderful to know that we are the temple
of
God and God’s presence is in each of us. It is the most marvelous reality of the Christian life. As His temple, our lives must depicts Christ. We are God’s representative here on earth , we like what He likes and hates what He hates. We are spirit filled individuals, empowered to do great things.

This topic is a quick reminder of who we really are; we
are set apart for God and His glory.
If we are God’s
temple then we better look into God’s word so we can see what He expects of us .
OUR BODIES ARE TO BE PLACES WHERE GOD IS
So you may think, how do I worship God with my body,
it is by presenting it as a living sacrifice {Romans 12:1-2}. It is for you to
use your body for nothing that will dishonor and degrade His name.
GOD EXPECTS US TO BE A HOUSE OF PURITY
This comes as a result of the act of consecration. So if
government vehicles can be tagged ‘for official use only’ so each of us should also
bear a tag on our body ‘for God’s use only’. We cant afford to mess ourselves
up. We are to be separated from the world and unto God.
TO BE A HOUSE OF PRAYER
For some people, prayer is flattering God with few
words of praise and telling Him of their problems, as if God doesn’t know. But prayer
is not like that, it is not informing God about our problems, our needs, it is
however recognizing the true worth of God in our lives. It is worshiping God.
The true essence of prayer is a total surrender to His will and way.
TO BE A HOUSE OF POWER
God wants to demonstrate His great power through you. You are His temple
and the presence of God resides in you. He wants to demonstrate His omnipotence
through you. The temple is a place of healing, a place where burdened people
come and be lifted up, where people come and find encouragement and joy.
God wants to touch and heal people through you,
through us, His temple. What a great joy in heaven when many people experience
God through us.
So I want to ask you a question? How is your life? Are
people around you experiencing God through your life? Behavior? Your lifestyle?
GOD WANTS US TO BE A HOUSE OF PRAISE
As God’s temple we are to declare Christ to people. So
don’t keep the faith, spread it out. We must be active in proclaiming the
messiah not minding the circumstances of life.
We have to have a thankful heart.
A HOUSE OF DUTY
We are to carry out all His duties by aligning
ourselves to Him. We have a lot of duties to carry out ; witnessing, fulfilling
purpose, etc.
We are to yield ourselves without any reserve to God. Our
bodies are sacred temples, holy unto God. So as we yield to His sovereignty, He
is changing the world, He gives us new strength and vitality. He brings us to
the fullness of His life. So surrender totally to Him and glorify God in your daily life.
