CHRIST LIKE

Today,I want to discuss with you the topic CHRIST LIKE, what it means and ways we can be Christ like. Happy reading 🤗🤗👌👌

To be Christ like means we are following Christ . God created us to become like christ, to be Christ like is to be like Him. As christians, we are Christ reflectors to the world. People ought to see Jesus in us and want to come to Him. 

To be like Him, we have to know Him and there is no two ways about knowing Him than to study Him through His words. Knowing how He treated people and how He handled life. So you have to read the Bible. It should be an everyday thing.

We need to grow in our knowledge of Christ . The deeper our knowledge, the deeper our understanding of Him and the more like Him we become.

So the first step to become more like Jesus is to behold His glory in His word(2Corinthians 3:18). We become like the one we behold in the word. That's why it is so important for us to take in scriptures. For as we read or listen to God's word, we behold Jesus and the Holy spirit transforms us in His image.

It says in 1John 2:6; Those who say they live in God should live their lives as Jesus did. So as Jesus lived , we as christians should live in the same way.

Another Bible text emphasizes on being imitators of Christ which is seen in Ephesians 5:1-2;Imitate God, therefore, in everything you do, because you are his dear children. Live a life filled with love, following the example of Christ. He loved us and offered himself as a sacrifice for us, a pleasing aroma to God.

So what are some of the ways we can get to be Christ like;

• HUMILITY: This was a great feature in the life of Christ. He exhibited deep and sincere humility. He was humble. It was recorded that Jesus talked with little children,He bent from His majesty of His divinity to be and speak with mankind on Earth, He washed His disciples feet, wiping them with towel. He was humble to the core. He ate with the poor,lived with them, He had no pride. 

So as christians, we should be like Jesus in this aspect. We need to put away selfish ambitions and focus on the needs around us.

• KINDNESS: As Christ is, we should walk in love. Show kindness to the people around you and not just to people you know. Stop and learn to recognize people's pain and be the one to offer help to those who needs it.

• BOLDNESS: Jesus was noted for courage and it was also seen in the lives of Peter and John; Jesus's disciples ( Acts 4:13) 

Jesus spoke out bodly and freely. And so as the Holy spirit has empowered us, we are to speak boldly, act bodly and speak God's word as it is.

• THANKFUL DURING TRIALS: This was seen in the life of Jesus and so as Christ like, we should learn to praise God in every circumstance we find ourselves. We should trust God enough to know that He is aware of whatsoever is going on in our lives. So in all circumstance, be greatful.

In summary, we should be Christ like in Character through exhibiting the fruit of the spirit (Galatians 5:22-23). This is what the Holy spirit produces in the life of a believer.
