A godly home; Raising our children

A lot has been happening in our society today, heart breaking news everywhere, reading about the bad behaviors of teenagers and youths. And all  I could think of was, what kind of home/ environment these children was brought out.

 Let me show you something from the word of God;

  Proverbs 22:6 

 Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it. '

I am not yet a parent but in my few years on earth ,I have realized that parenting ,I mean raising godly children is a huge responsibility and mind you, it's not just the affair of the mother or father alone,it has to be from both. 

 So it is not just giving birth and providing for their needs , instilling the things of God,great values,godly mindset,shaping thier behaviors is our sole responsibility. It's all start from the home ,how these children will turn out to be.

   It is not enough to take our children to the best schools,it is not enough to take them to church everyday,it is not enough to provide all that they need, We need to be sensitive .We need to be responsible .We need to teach and mentor them.  

 We need to instill good values in them .We need to teach them and show them how to have personal relationship with God .We need to be there for them spiritually even as they grow up,you know why, because the spiritual controls the physical. 

 Be sensitive enough to know when your children is bringing up some strange behaviors and immediately,do something about it , Be sensitive enough to know when your child starts to be overly quiet,

   Train them 

 Pray for them 

 Pray with them

 Be responsible

 

And of course, all these can't be done by your will power,you need the help of God, so seek Gods help and put them into Gods hand. 

  Assignment/ Note 

 # Build a godly home/ do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers

 # Pray for your children,declare good things into thier lives even before they are given birth to. 

 # Be spiritually alert and attentive,be sensitive enough to know what school, what they involved in and a whole lots more

 # Be their best friends 

 # Show them how to live a godly life 

 # Be an attentive listener.
