CONFESSING GOD'S WORD

Confessing God's word over and over again is not a cliche and that's why today ,I will be sharing with you what happens when you do that. 

In my experience with God that I had and still having,I have come to realize and know the power behind God's word. No wonder we are told in (Joshua 1:8) that we should meditate on God's word day and night and as a result of this we prosper and succeed in all that we do.

Another Bible verse says to be  renewed as we learn to know our creator (Collosians 3:10)

If the word wasn't important and even in the aspect of we overcoming struggles ,then we won't be told to study and meditate.

In one of my mentors book; a devotional,in every of the chapters, there is a confession after which is needed to be said and do you know what those confessions does, it brings you to the consciousness of what you are saying, and in no time you start seeing yourself of the exact same things you are speaking and so even in every of her meetings with me and others, she doesn't omit this; confess God's word concerning that thing.

So what then does it mean to confess God's word and how does it apply to our individual struggles?

WHAT IT MEANS TO CONFESS GODS WORD

Confession means: ‘to say the same thing as.’ To confess God’s Word is to say the same thing as God, to speak His Word as the ultimate truth concerning our lives, to be in agreement with Him. 

It means to declare God’s promises over your lives as true and established. God gives us His promises and tells us who we are in Christ, and we are to agree with Him in our heart and out loud, both in our believing and in our speaking. It’s all about walking in fellowship-agreement with God. “How can two walk together unless they are agreed” (Amos 3:3).

 The aim of confession (whether confession of our sin or confession of His promises) is to get ourselves into greater agreement with God, to line up our lives with His Word, so that we can have a closer faith-walk with Him and see His promises come powerfully to pass in our lives.

 

To say and do His Word, the more we align ourselves with Him, allowing His grace to work more abundantly in, so we can experience the life He desires for us.

WHY IS CONFESSION IMPORTANT?

Why do we need to speak God’s Word as well as believe it? Proverbs 18:21: “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.” 

This implies that our words have the power to create good (life) or evil (death) in our lives. We will have what we say. If we speak (sow) death we will reap it, but speaking words of life will release life. Good or bad things in our life originate in our heart: “A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. How do we bring forth good or bad things from our heart into our life?: For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks” (Luke 6:45). 

So by our words we bring things out of our spirit into the natural. It is by our words that we call and bring forth what we already have (received) in our spirit into manifestation: “for with the heart man believes unto righteousness and with the mouth confession (of the word of faith) is made unto salvation ( manifestation)” (Romans 10:10)

HOW DOES CONFESSION OF GOD'S WORD APPLY TO OUR STRUGGLES?

Confession is calling forth things that God has already accomplished and it is aligning with what God says about us. And this also apply to your struggles, it is God's desire that you live a life that pleases him, that your body honors him, that you don't defy the bed,that you stay clear of immoral acts,etc

And so because of that, we know if are doing contrary ,then you are wrong and so after deciding to change your ways, and in the journey of freedom,you then begin to speak God's words over struggles, you begin to confess God's words from the stand point of being already free.

Through the continual confessing of God's word,you become more aware of His plans for you, you become more aware about his will and then you begin to do better. And whenever a wrong thoughts comes,you use the word of God to conquer those thoughts.

Soon, you begin to notice those struggles starts to give way.

You begin to get more conscious of God's will  for your life.

In my freedom process/recovery, I confess God's words back to back.

There were some times I felt dirty but still,I didn't allow that to disrupt me or conquer me. I continued with the word and I was intentional about it. I knew the potency of God's word and so I used it .
