CONSISTENCY

HELLO FAM!

It's another week and of course a new blog.

For my new members, you are warmly welcome,it's good to have you here and to my returning readers, thank you for always showing up🤩

Today, I will be sharing with you why Consistency is needed to help you in the process of reviving your relationship with God.

Are you ready to be blessed by this piece, then continue to read.

Consistency is not found in how much of the Bible you can read or recite, but in the commitment to spend time in God’s Word and in His presence on a regular basis.

Consistency is the key to close relationship in our everyday lives and our spiritual lives. Consistency in our time with God starts with simple changes, but those simple changes can make a big impact.

If you can watch the same TV show every week, make it to the same job every day, or remember to eat, you’ve got what it takes to be consistent. God wants to spend time with us daily. When you are consistently in God's Word, you will only grow closer to Jesus!

Don't talk to God today and wait another week to do it again.

Inconsistency Kills Intimacy

When we allow the craziness or laziness of the world into our lives, we often find ourselves asking, “Why am I not as close to God as I want to be?” When we sacrifice consistency in our relationship with God, we not only begin to miss God, we begin to miss the work He is doing on our behalf.

Consistency Brings Us Close

Jesus said, “Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me” (John 15:4).

To abide is to endure without yielding, to continue in a place, to remain stable. Abiding is simply spending time together, day in and day out. What many us of do instead is pop in for a quick chat with God when it’s convenient then disappear for weeks.

So what can you do to be more and stay consistent?

Ways to be More Consistent With God

• Find time to be alone. Set aside a time to spend with God every day without distractions

Schedule a daily time to spend with the Lord

If you don’t have this, then being consistent with God is going to be a struggle. Everyone needs time to shut the door and be with the Lord and the best way to ensure that this remains consistent is to schedule

•Connect with other believers

The Bible consistently reminds us to meet with other believers.  God created us to have a relationship with Him, but He also created us to walk in love toward others.

When two or more people come together and they all have a desire to be more like Christ, it edifies everyone in the group because you realize you are not the only one in the race. Not to mention you can learn from each other and share experiences. This is why the Bible says that we stir each other up in “love and good works.”

• Fast often

This is a spiritual discipline that is often forgotten in the Church, but it is a spiritual discipline that is extremely beneficial if practiced correctly.

I feel as though a lot of people shy away from fasting because they simply don’t fully understand it, so let me explain it briefly.

Fasting is not meant to be something that we do to impress God or get God to do something. Rather, it is an act of the will to deny food for a short period of time to cause the flesh to be subject to the rule of our spirit man.

The Bible commands us to put off the old man and “put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him” (Colossians 3:10).

• Be under a mentorship platform

The place of mentorship cannot be overemphasized. We also need to have people that can assist us in our walk with God. I sort of mentioned this tip earlier when I addressed the importance of spending time with other believers, but this differs in that you are looking for a mentor/accountability partner.

We all can learn from people, and there is always someone that is farther along in their walk with God than you. These people can help you, so please don't shy away from it and prayerful choose who.

All of these aforementioned is all that can help you stay consistent and more so, all of these had helped me too and is still helping me.

I hope you found it useful?
